I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) and psychotherapist, with a focus on providing sex therapy. I work from a psychodynamic, trauma-informed, relational perspective and incorporate mindfulness, and behavioral therapies (CBT and DBT). I also work from a risk-reduction perspective, meaning I work with people who are current or former substance users. Ultimately in my work with my clients, I strive to hear the ways their issues interact with their individual stories and assist them in finding the relationships they want in their lives, with themselves and with others.
I am currently in the process of completing sex therapy certification (CST) through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). Issues I am comfortable and have experience discussing include difficulties related to sexual functioning, identity, behaviors, arousal, orgasm, and/or pain. I have a history in helping my clients manage and shift their sex lives due to long-term health issues, such as chronic health concerns, mental health issues, or medication issues. In working with sexuality-related issues, I hope to assist my clients alleviate any guilt, shame, and stress that may be getting in the way of their ideal sex lives.
My professional areas of interest include, but are not limited to, working with LGBTQ people with trauma in their histories, mindful and tantric sex, individuals struggling with sexuality and chemical dependency issues, and issues related to non-mainstream sexualities such as kink, BDSM, and non-monogamy. My hope is to help anyone I work with, regardless of their struggles, define and work toward their idea of mental and sexual health.
