Dr. Vencill is an assistant professor and licensed psychologist at the Program in Human Sexuality / Center for Sexual Health. Her research interests include health disparities and minority stress in marginalized sexual communities, mixed orientation relationships, and women’s sexual health. Dr. Vencill’s clinical interests and specialties include: sexual health and functioning, gender and sexual identity development, couples/relationship intimacy concerns, alternative relationship models, and recovery from sexual trauma. Dr. Vencill sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Positive Sexuality and is past president of the Society for the Psychology of Women’s Section on Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Concerns. She received her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Texas Tech University and was the first Michael E. Metz Postdoctoral Fellow at the Program in Human Sexuality.
